15 minutes is ideal. You get a good bacterial kill rate and the most exposure to oxygen at 15 minutes. If you are short on time, 10 minutes is good. If you wear the PerioTrays® with the PerioGel® or PerioGelX®  for longer than 15 minutes, it doesn’t help you or hurt you. Hydrogen peroxide breaks down into oxygen and water. 

Doctors prescribe wearing times. Please call your doctor to ask about your specific conditions. If you have PerioTrays® from PerioProtect® and have had to delay your regular care due to the coronavirus outbreak, twice a day is likely to be recommended until you can get into the dental office for periodontal maintenance therapy. If you have been wearing your
PerioTrays® once a day, continuing the daily treatment is important to keep inflammation and infection at bay. 

The frequency of usage will determine how long a tube of gel will last:

When wearing 1x/day,  a tube of
PerioGel® or PerioGelX® will last approximately 6 weeks.

When wearing 2x/day, a tube of
PerioGel® or PerioGelX® will last approximately 3 weeks.

When wearing 3x/day, a tube of
PerioGel® or PerioGelX® will last approximately 2 weeks.
